How will your office protect citizens from criminal activity?
The Sheriff’s Office and community working together
Zero tolerance for those breaking the law
We will establish round table/town hall discussions involving community and business leaders, and citizens
Why do people call you the 21st Century Candidate?
I believe there are a number of crimes that go unreported in Fauquier. Technologies have advanced in such a way that makes information gathering easy . We will leverage those technologies for the Sheriff’s Office.
We will use technologies to allow for online reporting non-emergency crime
Using the technology resources we will be able to leverage information and allow deputies to be more efficient with their time as well as making it easier for citizens to report non-emergency crimes
How will the community be in partnership with the Sheriff’s Office?
Building confidence and giving our youth a purpose through an Explorer Program for youth ages 14-20
Involve in the administrative day-to-day activities of law enforcement, such as fingerprinting young children for parents. Expose young men and women to the day-to-day operations of law enforcement
Starting a volunteer mounted police horse patrol at little or no cost to the citizens - will serve not only for special events but as an invaluable resource for search and rescue operations in hard to reach areas of Fauquier County
What is Accreditation by Commonwealth of Virginia and why is it important?
It’s a set of standards and guidelines for Professional Policing set by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services
Peace of mind for you, the citizen, that your Sheriff’s Office is following best practices; the Sheriff’s Office will begin the accreditation process in 2016
Note: All counties surrounding Fauquier with the exception of Rappahannock are accredited; this includes the Town of Warrenton Police
